La Casalia Villa A — KNX panel installation
The villa's distribution board was built around a KNX backbone, bringing ABB KNX modules, protection devices and field wiring into one panel.

The Challenge
We came in while the villa was still at shell stage, with the panel location and field wiring still open. Lighting and power circuits and the KNX bus line had to come together in the same enclosure without interfering with each other. The module and cable layout had to be settled before the plastering work closed everything up.
The Watt Works Solution
We laid the panel out in layers: residual current devices and miniature circuit breakers on the lower rows, ABB KNX modules and the bus power supply on the upper row. Field cables were terminated on the blocks following the colour scheme, and the KNX line was routed separately from the power cabling. Circuits were labelled, so commissioning and later maintenance can be followed from the panel schedule.
The project is ongoing. As the room wiring is completed, KNX addressing and scene programming will be carried out from this panel.
Engineering Highlights
- KNX modules and protection gear in a single panel
- ABB KNX modules and bus power supply
- Power and KNX lines on separate routes
- Labelled circuits, an ordered terminal row
