The Challenge
The entrance door was already installed and opened with a key. The requirement was to move to keyless entry without replacing the door or its leaf.
As the door faces outside, the lock would work on a surface exposed to the weather. The body had to line up exactly with the existing handle and lock axis.
The Watt Works Solution
After taking measurements from the door, the smart lock with keypad and fingerprint reader was mounted on the door leaf. The body was set vertically, with the keypad just above the handle at an easily reachable height.
Once installed, user records were created and the lock was tested separately by PIN code and by fingerprint. The closing alignment of the door and the locking action were checked on site.
Engineering Highlights
- Smart lock fitted without replacing the existing entrance door
- Keyless entry by PIN code and fingerprint
- Installed on an exterior door exposed to the weather
- User records created and tested on site
