GK Villa — lighting, blind and pool control
In a new-build villa in Yenikent, lighting, blinds and pool control sit on a single KNX backbone, each space keeping its own switch language.

The Challenge
The villa was planned as a new build, and the automation decisions were taken while construction was still running. The brief was clear: lighting, blinds and pool control had to run through one system and leave no room for hesitation in daily use.
The second condition was architectural. Different parts of the house called for different switch and control types, yet all of them had to be addressed with a single logic inside the same KNX structure.
The Watt Works Solution
All systems were brought onto a single KNX backbone. The panels carry ABB i-bus KNX switch actuators, a KNX power supply and an IP interface; the rooms are fitted with multi-function button plates and flush-mounted touch panels. Lighting runs with switching, dimming, scenes and timed control, while blinds are driven both individually and centrally.
Each space uses a different plate and button type, but the addressing and the scenes were built on one structure. Commissioning was done in ETS and the panels were left labelled. The house is operated the same way from the wall buttons, the touch panels, and from a phone or tablet over internet access.
Engineering Highlights
- Lighting, blind and pool control on a single KNX backbone
- ABB i-bus KNX actuators, power supply and IP interface in the panels
- A different switch and panel type per space, one addressing structure
- Switching, dimming, scenes and timed control
- Same control from buttons, touch panels and remote access
