The Challenge
We joined the E-VOLVE residential project, built by EVO Construction in Iskele, while the structure was still at shell stage. The brief was not devices added to individual apartments later, but one smart home infrastructure working the same way across the whole development. In every residence, lighting, climate, blinds, video intercom and the door lock were to run on the same system.
At this scale the real issue is repeatability. For a large number of near-identical apartments, the cabling, panel and programming template had to be right from the start. Cabling decisions also had to keep pace with the construction schedule.
The Watt Works Solution
We built the KNX backbone on a single apartment template used across the development, bringing lighting, climate, motorised blinds, video intercom and the smart lock onto the same line. Cable routes and apartment panels were set together with the construction team before the walls were closed.
Each residence is fed from its own panel and commissioned with the same programming template, so behaviour does not vary between apartments. Residents use the system from in-apartment control points or from the app, and remote access runs on the same structure. The project is ongoing; site installation follows the construction programme.
Engineering Highlights
- KNX infrastructure started at shell stage
- Lighting, climate and motorised blind control in every residence
- Video intercom and smart lock on the same system
- One programming template for all apartments
- Remote access from the app
